Frequently Asked Questions
Is everything really computed in my browser?
Yes. Every converter on OhMyUnit is a small JavaScript function that runs in your browser tab. Your input is never uploaded.
Do I need to sign up?
No account is needed. Open a tool and type.
Is it free?
Yes — completely free. The site is supported by ads.
Where do the cooking weights come from?
Ingredient weights per cup are based on USDA FoodData Central and King Arthur baking references. Real values can vary by ±5–10% with sifting and packing.
Why does my ring size differ between charts?
Some brands use slightly different inner-diameter rounding. We use ISO 8653 millimetre values, which are the international standard.
Are the pregnancy weeks medically accurate?
OhMyUnit uses Naegele's rule (LMP + 280 days) and the standard ACOG trimester boundaries. This is informational only; it is not a substitute for an obstetric ultrasound or professional advice.
Can I print the conversion tables?
Yes. Pages have a print stylesheet that hides the header, footer, and ads. Use your browser's print dialog (Ctrl/Cmd + P).
Why do I see ads?
Ads cover the running cost of the site (domain, analytics, time). Ads are clearly labelled and never block the converter itself.
