How it works
Words are drawn from a small bundled corpus. Sentences are 6–15 words; paragraphs are 3–7 sentences. The classic variant seeds the first sentence with the canonical “Lorem ipsum” opener so it reads correctly to people who recognise it.
FAQ
Where does the classic Latin come from? Cicero's De finibus bonorum et malorum, written 45 BCE — specifically a passage that begins "Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet…" Lorem ipsum has been used as printers' filler since the 1500s.
When should I use hipster or tech instead of classic? Use the themed variants when the placeholder is going in front of a real audience and you want it to read as obviously fake. Classic Latin can occasionally be mistaken for a foreign-language draft; hipster and tech ipsum are unmistakable.
Is this random or always the same? Random — every regeneration produces a different sequence. The classic variant always starts with the canonical "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" unless you uncheck the seed option.
